World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will gain 3% of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will improve after a future reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
The use of a Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. try what she says can be used to level up the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This can be a downside in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't need it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with the level 1 base, and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Each when you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items might require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs listed above.
